Dining Out - Carnivore

For our final night dining out during our 28 day plan, we opted for Carnivore, a relatively new restaurant in Ballard that we'd identified early on as a good option for a satisfying, yet heathy meal. Carnivore specializes in simple, well-prepared meat and vegetables from local producers, with most items either grilled or prepared on a rotisserie. All items are shareable by the table.

We started out with the heirloom tomato salad, which included charred snap peas and bacon vinaigrette. The bacon vinaigrette was the perfect rich complement to the tang of the tomatoes.

For our main course, we shared the grilled ribeye steak and the rotisserie vegetables with chimichurri sauce. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The vegetables were an unexpected mixture - onion, radish, fennel, eggplant and zucchini. I would never have thought to grill radish or fennel, but they were delicious and the garlicky chimichurri sauce went perfectly with them.
