Dining Out - Pyramid Alehouse
It can be challenging to eat healthy when you find yourself at a pub. Most pub menus are filled with heavier items, often reliant on large amounts of bread or fries to round out a meal. Pyramid Alehouse thankfully has multiple healthy options on their menu. They have about six different meal-sized salads on the menu, including a Cobb Salad and the option to add chicken, shrimp or salmon to any of the other salads. They also have a small entrees section with items like salmon, honey-cilantro chicken and meatloaf. While these come with sides like rice pilaf or potatoes, I imagine they would be willing to substitute extra vegetables for anyone following a lower carb diet or avoiding refined grains.
The night we were there, I opted for the arugula salad with grilled salmon and my husband had the caesar salad with chicken and a cup of soup. I neglected to get a photo of my meal that night, but the arugula salad was a generous size, with bacon and feta as well as the tasty addition of juicy, peeled pink grapefruit wedges. The caesar salad and soup also made a satisfying meal.
